How the desk reads POS vs cash at the September close
On hospitality files the POS total and cash collections do not land on the same day. The gap is split line by line on the month-end working paper — not closed with a round percentage.

Why it is read
Hotels and restaurants keep POS, cash and online collections in three buckets. If the bank-statement date and the Z-report date slip, the VAT base inflates or falls short.
What the desk asks for
Daily Z-reports, the acquirer listing and the cash book are pulled to the same period. Voids, refunds and commission lines are marked separately.
