SSI 2026/34: the medicines list does not move payroll
The reimbursable medicines list sits on the health-insurance and pharmacy side. Employer premiums, start-of-work notices and monthly statements do not change with this circular.

Circular 2026/34 updates the SSI list of medicines whose cost is reimbursed. Pharmacy supply and universal-health payments are what the list governs.
What the employer file watches is different: premium days, start- and end-of-work notices, and the monthly statement. The medicines list does not, by itself, move payroll base or employer cost.
If a hospitality or construction workplace with staff on universal health asks: the list is a health payment, not a wage calculation.
